Kappa Alpha Theta is the place to find your lifelong best friends and sisters. Special sisterhood events bring Thetas together to bond and do things they otherwise may not find the time or energy to do. The sisters of Kappa Alpha Theta participate in weekly organized sisterhood activities, spending time developing bonds and growing close to eachother. Our sisterhood committee does a fabulous job of planning a large variety of events for the Thetas to participate in. From tye-dying t-shirts to pumpkin carving, Thetas always have a great time together!!
Every fall semester, the Thetas travel to Baltimore to enjoy an Orioles baseball game. This is a nice way to get out of town while simultaneously spending time with each other. While some of us cheer on the O's and others cheer against them, this is guaranteed to be a fun event!
In the past, the Thetas took a coach bus into Washington, D.C. for a visit to the National Zoo. This was a great way to bond outside of College Park and swoon over some furry creatures!
The women of Theta celebrated the change of season by traveling to Butler's Orchard for a day full of fun fall festivities. We went on a hayride, picked pumpkins, and indulged in some yummy caramel apples. Later that week, we all carved our pumpkins together and set them outside the Theta stairs for some festive decoration!
On a lovely Sunday afternoon, the Thetas sat outside to enjoy a crab feast together. It was fun to share this Maryland tradition with each other while bonding as sisters!
Other sisterhood activities have included movie nights, game nights, holiday parties, ice cream buffets, and dress-swaps before formal events. The sisterhood committee is always looking for new, fun ways for the sisters to come together and bond with each other!
