The Gamma Mu facility renovation started as a revamp of the electrical and ventilation systems throughout the house, but resulted in a major renovation of the facility that was completed in August 2010. The overall project management was coordinated by Zita Enloe, former Fraternity Housing Corporation Board president, and the facility was beautifully redecorated with the interior design expertise of former Fraternity President and current FHC Interior Design Coordinator Karen Ledbetter.
The basement’s electrical and ventilation systems, flooring, lighting, and painting have all been redone. The first floor’s living room, TV room, commercial kitchen, night kitchen, dining room, guest room, and facility director’s suite were all completely remodeled. The back entrance to the facility now has a chair lift for handicap accessibility, and the guest room is ADA compliant. The entire first floor has new flooring, and the stairs have been re-carpeted. The second and third floor bathrooms have enjoyed a complete renovation. All bedrooms have been painted, the floors have been sanded, and the third floor now has a beautiful study area that can be enjoyed by all. The flat roof has been repaired, and fire and safety systems have all been reviewed and updated as necessary. A wireless internet system was also installed throughout the facility.
